Bonamia was established in 2004 when Walker Drive Shopping Centre opened its doors. The Restaurant was previously owned and operated by the founder, Bonita Skors (known to all as Bonny) until 2014 when it was taken over by Justin and Theresia (Tess) Muller.

Tess was a waitress at Bonamia from 2007 to 2012.  We got married in 2012 and moved to East London for a season.  When we heard that Bonny was thinking of selling Bonamia to move to Cape Town, we knew immediately that this was what we really wanted to do.  We closed our eyes and took a leap of faith.  Its only by the grace of God that we are still here today. 

We decided to keep most of the menu favourites that our guests knew and introduced a few new dishes.

In 2017 we did major renovations.  We demolished our kitchen to create extra floor space and give Bonamia a whole new look and feel.  We built a completely new kitchen in the shop next door. 

We try our best to offer something for everyone.  Whether it’s just a quick bite for lunch or a full 3 course dinner you’ll find exactly what you are looking for at Bonamia. 

We keep our prices as fair as possible, without compromising on quality.  We are well known for hosting parties and special events.  From baby showers to birthday parties, live music shows and even a few weddings, many fond memories have been made at Bonamia.
